Lesia Young, Ph.D.

Dr. Young is the developer and director of the Ergonomics/Human Performance Program and Experimentation Laboratory at MSU.  She received her BS, MS, and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University. Dr. Crumpton-Young's research interests include: human fatigue and reliability, cumulative trauma prevention and control, fuzzy modeling, virtual reality and computer simulation in ergonomics, design of displays and controls, workplace design, and workplace redesign for disabled persons. Dr. Young has published over 22 scholarly publications and has worked on industrial research projects with numerous companies and agencies, including UPS, IBM, Southwest Airlines, Lockheed-Martin, and the US NAVY.

 

Sabrina Williams, Ph.D.

Dr. Williams is a research associate with the MSU Ergonomics and Human Performance Laboratory.  She received a BS in mathematics from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA, and both a MS and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering with an emphasis in Ergonomics/Human Factors Engineering from Mississippi State University.  Her research interests include designing the work environment for aging workers and investigating occupational health and safety concerns in industry.  Dr. Williams has published several scholarly publications and performed ergonomic consultation for companies such as Georgia-Pacific, Continue Care Home Health and Caterpillar.

 

Patrick Parker, M.S.

Mr. Parker oversees the daily operations and directs the research planning for the Ergonomics and Human Performance laboratory.  He received his B.S. in Computer Science and his M.S. in Exercise Physiology (both from Mississippi State University) and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering.  Mr. Parker’s research interests include cumulative trauma exposure assessment, exposure-response relationships, and Police Applications of Ergonomics and Human Factors.

 

Tzer-Nan Soh Waters, M.S.

Mrs.Waters is a Research Associate at the Ergonomics and Human Performance Laboratory at Mississippi State University.  She received both her B.Sc. in Biological Engineering and M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering at Mississippi State University.  Previously, Mrs. Waters worked for La-Z-Boy Inc. in the capacity of quality assurance and engineering management for three years at one of their manufacturing facilities in Mississippi.  Her background includes industrial ergonomics, quality management, and biomechanics.  Her research focus includes fatigue assessment, human performance, and the disabled population.

 

Cassandra Dillon, M.S.

Ms.Dillion is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering. She received her B.S in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University and M.S in Risk Control / Safety Engineering from University of Wisconsin – STOUT. Her research interests are Cumulative trauma prevention, Virtual Reality in ergonomics, Workplace redesign for disabled persons, Designing the work environment for aging workers.

 

Ronke Adeyibi

Ms. Adeyibi is an undergraduate research associate involved with preliminary article/journal research, data collecting, and journal submissions. She also maintains the publicity brochures and pamphlets.  Her research interests include Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and other Cumulative Trauma Disorders.

 

Katie Brandon

Ms. Brandon is a research associate in the MSU Ergonomics and Human Performance Lab.  Having studied abroad at University of Bristol in Bristol England, she is currently pursuing a BS and a MS in Industrial Engineering from Mississippi State.  Ms. Brandon has also completed a 2-semester internship in Washington D.C. working for Congressman Chip Pickering.

 

Joyce Tillman

Joyce Tillman is a senior in Industrial Engineering. She is an undergraduate research associate in the MSU Ergonomics Laboratory. She assists with collecting data and writing journal publications.

 

 

Gomathi Anandan

Gomathi Anandan is a graduate student in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University.  She administrates the lab computer network and creates and maintains databases used by the team in their research.

 

Christina Smith

Ms.Smith is an undergraduate research associate in the ergonomics laboratory. Her duties include creating and maintaining a journal database, and handling the purchasing needs of the lab.

 

 

 

Moses James, Jr.

Moses is a senior in Industrial Engineering. He is an Outreach and Extensions Support Officer in the MSU Human-Systems Engineering Lab.  He assists with collecting data through research.  Research interests include soft tissue and Musculoskeletal disorders.  Future research includes manufacturing ergonomics, virtual reality, and voice dialogue systems.

 

 

Amanda Boone

Amanda Boone is a research assistant in the Human-Systems Engineering Laboratory. She received her B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Mississippi State University.  She received her M.S. in Industrial Engineering in May 2003 from Mississippi State University. Her research concentration is improving medication adherence among elderly individuals.

 

 

Ginger Cross

Ginger is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Cognitive Science. She received her B.S. in Psychology (1998) and M.S. in Experimental Psychology (2001) from Mississippi State University. Research interests: training, transportation, and consumer product design.
