The 2025 American Society for Engineering Education Southeastern Section Annual Conference, hosted by the Mississippi State’s Bagley College of Engineering, brought together educators and students from across the region to engage in meaningful discussions on the future of engineering education.
Amongst the presenters and awardees were the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering's own faculty. Congratulations!
The March 9-11, 2025 conference explored innovative solutions for enhancing teaching and learning in engineering education with the theme “The Lifelong Engineer: Enduring, Meaningful Impacts in Engineering Education.” Attendees received an enriching program that addressed key challenges and opportunities within the field.
ASEE Southeastern Section President Natalia Cardelino of Mercer University said, “Each conference I’ve attended has provided me with new ideas and valuable information that I’ve been able to bring back and apply in my work.”
Highlights included numerous technical sessions, a student poster competition, workshops and roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities. Keynote Speakers included co-founder and CEO of Glo Hagan Walker, as well as Asim Ali, executive director of the Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning at Auburn University.

Founded in 1893, the non-profit American Society for Engineering Education, or ASEE, is the premier organization for research and professional learning related to engineering education. Engineering education professionals in ASEE learn about wide-ranging topics, from K-12 engineering outreach and lifelong professional learning to field-specific innovations and industry partnerships.
